Dr. Lisa Reid: I grew up in Barbados, and there you're sort of encouraged to decide what you want to pursue at a pretty young age.
In high school, I loved art and I loved science. My dentist had all these paintings in his office, and I learned one day that he had painted all these paintings. I started talking to him about this connection between art and science, and he said that dentistry was a really good feel to give you that balance and to support both of those needs within yourself. I took a chance and it worked out.
My approach to patient care is truly collaborative. I believe that patients should be served by whoever has the best skill set to treat whatever their need is. I like to focus on complex restorative dentistry, and we have other team members that are better at periodontal support and orthodontic support, and so we all work together to provide the best outcome for our patient.
I am most passionate about making my patients feel really good about the way they present to the world, and so I just love being able to transform people's smiles.
What I love the most about being here is the relationships that we build with the patients. I've been here for 16 years, and over the last 16 years I've seen kids graduate high school, go on to college, get married, have a family, and that's really the best part of it.
