Dental Cleanings
Did you know that plaque hardens into tartar after 24 hours? That means skipping flossing for just one day or failing to remove all signs of plaque can result in tartar build up. Tartar typically can't be removed with brushing and flossing. But it can be removed with professional dental tools such as dental picks.
We remove accumulated tartar that has built up between the teeth, along the gum line, and in other hard to reach areas. If the early signs of gum disease are identified, a professional cleaning and improved oral hygiene habits at home may be all that is needed to treat the condition.

Scaling and Root Planing
If you are suffering from gingivitis, you may require a deep cleaning, also referred to as scaling and root planing. Your dentist or hygienist will clean pockets of bacteria from your gums, first numbing the gums to minimize discomfort. After cleaning the pockets, we will smooth the tooth roots. Rough patches can trap bacteria, so a deep cleaning will help prevent gum disease from recurring.
Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique
The Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique can treat the gum recession that often occurs as a result of gum disease. When gum recession occurs, it can expose the roots of the teeth, causing increased sensitivity. This can also affect the appearance of your smile. With this surgery, we can loosen and reposition surrounding gum tissue to treat receding gums. Small strips of collagen are also placed to support and stabilize the gums. After healing, the tooth roots have more protection and the gum line looks more even and healthy.

LANAP
If you are suffering from more advanced gum disease, you may be a candidate for LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure) treatment. After numbing your gums, Dr. Stanislaus will insert a tiny laser into the space between your tooth and gums. The laser will eradicate bacteria without damaging surrounding gum tissue. In most cases, you will need two rounds of treatment, neither of which requires significant recovery time.
